Therapeutic interruption of pregnancies

More than ever, abortion is at the heart of the debate. As a feminist movement, we have been fighting for several years for women to have the choice, the choice of their maternity, the freedom of disposition of their bodies.

The essentials of our actions for the therapeutic termination of pregnancy

GTI, also known as "therapeutic abortion", is practiced when, following a prenatal diagnosis, a serious abnormality is found. In the case of the detection of this type of anomaly, a decision to stop the pregnancy can be made.

Unlike late miscarriage, or fetal death in utero, which has no medical solution, the discovery of a serious abnormality cofrontes the caregiver and parents to the difficult issue of whether or not to continue the pregnancy.

The context of this medical practice varies with the term of pregnancy, the medical indication, the disease detected, and the personal history of the mother and the couple...

Is ITG a right?

The therapeutic termination of pregnancy (ITG) is a fundamental right: when the health of the pregnant woman is at risk, when the embryo is not viable or when the woman has been sexually assaulted and is pregnant with her executioner, We believe she has the right to choose to terminate this pregnancy.

Our participation in the national collective

We are now part of the national collective supporting the proposed law on ITG initiated by the Nifin'Akanga movement in order to:
• Ensuring that the process of adapting the legislative proposal has been properly respected has been the subject of several violations of the law in recent months;
• Obtain support from the media and the public through the sharing of testimonies, awareness raising and popularization of the proposed law
• Mobilize organizations and institutions, technical and financial partners in Madagascar on the issue.
